Casablanca
The Casablanca Valley is Santiago's gateway to the sea. A unique region and a reknown 'cool' climate area. The higher, warmer, frost-free sections are suitable for some more forgiving black varieties, while the lower, cooler areas produce excellent fruit for cold-loving Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Rapel - Colchagua
Colchagua is the largest and southern most part of the Rapel Valley. Vineyards climb incresingly higher up the steep hill sides. The area benefits directly from the cooling breezes that blow directly from the sea which extend the ripening season.
Maule
Maule is Chile's largest wine region. Day to night temperature variation is an important climatic feature. Red varieties benefit from the warmer temperatures on the valley floor. The area is famous for its great red wines, namely Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere. Read more...
